Jim Chiou at UCI

1. Introduction
Jim Chiou and I became friends while we were students at UCI.
Jim had the idea to make video recordings of lectures at UCI and then sell the video recordings to students who missed class, or to students who wanted to avoid taking notes during lectures, or to students who wanted to be able to review previous lectures.
Jim went to a classroom to test audio and video equipment. I helped him perform the tests, and I also took photographs of the classroom.
